Hayes Electrical has earned my business in the future. They saved me hundreds of dollars by referring me to Entergy first after hearing what my electrical issues were. They could have made easy money on a service call, and then refer me to Entergy. Instead, they did the right thing and had me contact Entergy first. 5 stars Nice to see a company that didn't take advantage of a customer. ❤️1

Mallard Junction service area.
From our Lake Charles shop.

Electrical service in Mallard Junction
Mallard Junction is a newer Lake Charles area subdivision with primarily 2000s and later residential construction. Drive time from our shop is ten to fifteen minutes. Most homes here were built on modern 200A services with copper feeders, modern grounding electrode systems, and current-code branch wiring.
What we work on in Mallard Junction
Generator installs are the top call. Even newer construction lost power for extended stretches in 2020 and standby demand stays high. Most installs are Generac air-cooled units in the 22-26kW range with a service-rated transfer switch. We pull the City of Lake Charles permit and coordinate with the fuel supply.
EV charger installs are picking up. Level 2 chargers on 40A or 48A circuits per NEC 625 are standard. Most Mallard Junction homes have enough panel capacity for a charger without a service upgrade.
Surge protection (Type 2 SPD per NEC 285 at the service panel) is one of the highest-value upgrades for a modern home full of electronics, and we install it on every generator job by default.
Pool and spa work falls under NEC 680 with strict bonding requirements. We pull the permit and follow the equipotential bonding requirements carefully.

Who issues your Mallard Junction permit.
Mallard Junction is a Lake Charles neighborhood inside city limits, so electrical permits are issued by the City of Lake Charles Building and Permit Division. We pull the permit and schedule rough and final inspections.
We pull the permit under our Louisiana contractor license, coordinate the rough and final inspections, and walk the inspector through the work so you do not have to.
What Southwest Louisiana says about our work
Real reviews from real customers across Lake Charles, Sulphur, Moss Bluff, and the surrounding parishes.
Great service! Brent was able to diagnose the problem and complete the repair quickly and efficiently! He was able to solve a problem that my contractor's electricians were unable to solve! He was very courteous and professional. Highly recommend Hayes Electrical!! Great experience from first call to the end!
They added my 50amp generator receptacle box outside my house, they also added an interlock and the generator breaker. I also had them add a 2nd 50amp receptacle, just below my panel, for a future vehicle lift and had them drop a CAT6 behind my tv, so I can play Xbox online without lagging. I would hire them again without thinking twice. They're extremely professional and reasonably priced.
My parents have an older home and was having an issue with circuits overloading. We contacted Hayes after seeing they had rave reviews. They sent someone right over, diagnosed the issue and gave us a few pricing package options. We selected the pricing package that was most affordable for us and scheduled their appointment to come back and do the work. On the day scheduled, two gentlemen arrived promptly, did a walk through assessment and helped us understand everything they would be doing and got right to work! They were professional, efficient and very thorough. My parents circuits were rerouted and are working better than ever!
Common questions in Mallard Junction
Do you serve Mallard Junction?
Yes, we cover Mallard Junction regularly. It is a Lake Charles neighborhood on our standard route. Service calls, panel work, and circuit additions are all on the schedule.
How fast can you get to my home in Mallard Junction?
Mallard Junction is a quick run from our shop. Non-emergency calls usually land same-day or next-day, and emergency arrival is typically inside two hours.
Do I need a permit for an EV charger install in Mallard Junction?
Yes, a hardwired Level 2 charger needs a city permit and inspection. NEC 625 covers the dedicated circuit, disconnect, and GFCI requirements. We pull the permit, run the circuit, and meet the inspector for the final.
My Mallard Junction home is 1970s. Anything to watch for?
Some 1970s homes still have aluminum branch wiring from the 1965 to 1973 era. Aluminum at switches and outlets loosens and overheats. We install AlumiConn or COPALUM connectors at devices or rewire affected circuits in copper.
Do you handle hot tub circuits in Mallard Junction?
Yes, a hot tub needs a permit and inspection. NEC 680 covers the equipotential bonding loop, GFCI disconnect, and setback. We set the bonding, run the dedicated circuit, and walk the inspector through it.
