A like-for-like device swap does not require a permit at the Calcasieu Parish AHJ. New circuits or new outlet locations do, and we file the permit.
Moss Bluff is unincorporated Calcasieu Parish, so electrical permits are issued by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury Building Division. We pull the permit at the parish office and meet the parish inspector for rough and final. Permit work runs under LA Lic #73821. You do not touch the paperwork.

USB combo outlets are deeper than a standard receptacle. The original shallow box does not have enough cubic-inch volume per NEC 314 to accept it safely, so we replace the box first.
