They added my 50amp generator receptacle box outside my house, they also added an interlock and the generator breaker. I also had them add a 2nd 50amp receptacle, just below my panel, for a future vehicle lift and had them drop a CAT6 behind my tv, so I can play Xbox online without lagging. I would hire them again without thinking twice. They're extremely professional and reasonably priced.

Charpentier Historic District service area.
From our Lake Charles shop.
Trucks dispatch out of 803 W Bayou Pines Dr, Ste D, Lake Charles, LA 70601. Most days a crew is already inside Calcasieu Parish on another job, so the drive is short. For after-hours calls we roll one out from the shop.
GFCI outlet installation in Charpentier Historic District covers kitchens, bathrooms, garages, exterior receptacles, laundry, and unfinished basements per NEC 210.8. Older Lake Charles homes through the historic core were built before GFCI rules existed, and a single failed GFCI in the kitchen is often the first time a homeowner notices that no protection has been there for forty years.
We install Leviton SmartlockPro, Eaton SGFW, and Hubbell GFTR15W self-test GFCI devices, code-compliant per the 2020 NEC self-test requirement. For older two-wire ungrounded circuits common in pre-1960 Lake Charles homes, we install the GFCI as allowed by NEC 406.4(D)(2), label it “GFCI Protected, No Equipment Ground,” and verify with a SureTest analyzer that ground-fault protection trips at the required 4 to 6 mA.
For exterior receptacles facing the alley side of historic-district homes, we add a listed in-use weatherproof cover (NEC 406.9) so the GFCI stays sealed when a cord is plugged in. The Lake Charles AHJ does not require a permit for like-for-like GFCI replacement.
What we look at for this job
Permits and inspections
The Charpentier Historic District sits inside the City of Lake Charles limits, so electrical permits are issued by the City of Lake Charles Building and Permit Division. Historic exterior work sometimes triggers additional architectural review. Permit work runs under LA Lic #73821. You do not touch the paperwork.

A group of men and woman that are talented and focused. All licensed. Their customer service is excellent. They were able to upgrade my electrical system for a house built in the 1970s. We removed outdated fluorescent lighting, and these were replaced with current LED canned lighting, expanded the circuit board and repaired the drywall hole that the old fluorescence left in the ceiling. When we asked for options, they gave us multiple options from which we discussed pros and cons of each. Lastly, they are honest, trustworthy, and reliable.
Common questions for GFCI Outlet Installation in Charpentier Historic District
Can a GFCI work in my older Charpentier Historic District home with no ground wire?
Yes. NEC 406.4(D)(2) allows a GFCI as a replacement on a two-wire ungrounded circuit. We label it "GFCI Protected, No Equipment Ground" so the next owner knows what is there.
My new Charpentier Historic District GFCI will not reset. What is wrong?
Usually a downstream device is faulting to ground. We isolate each load on the line side, find the source, and repair it before re-energizing.
Where does NEC require GFCI outlets in my Charpentier Historic District home?
Kitchen counter receptacles, all bathrooms, garages, outdoor receptacles, laundry, unfinished basements, dishwasher, and within six feet of any sink. The list keeps growing each NEC cycle.
