They were really helpful and got to me the next day, a storm came through and my electric box outside got messed up really bad, I only had half of my house working. It was a fire hazard, waiting to happen. I had called many places to come out to look at it and they was putting me off, it was so scary. I was so blessed when I called them the owner came out the same day and said that they could come out the next day to fix it. I thank God this company was so worried about my house catching on fire, so he put me in front of other customers because he was really concerned. Does the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury permit smart-home work in Sulphur?

Permits route through the Police Jury when the property is outside Lake Charles city limits, which covers most of the perimeter cities. Pure low-voltage installs typically do not require a permit, but any new circuit, panel work, or service-entrance surge protector does. We pull the permits and schedule the inspections.

We are on Beauregard Electric, not Entergy. Does that affect anything?

It affects the service-entrance work and any utility-coordinated meter changes. Beauregard Electric has its own service standards and disconnect coordination process, and we work to their requirements when the meter or service entrance is involved. The smart-home install on the customer side of the meter is the same either way.

Can you wire smart cameras to my shop or barn at the back of the property?

Yes. For runs over about 150 feet we pull outdoor-rated direct-burial Cat6 or fiber, and for longer separation we sometimes use a point-to-point UniFi or Cambium wireless bridge. Cameras at the outbuilding land on the same hub as the house cameras with full PoE redundancy.
