Rewires in Westlake are most common on the older town-center buildings (1940s and 1950s housing stock that still holds early Romex without a ground conductor or, occasionally, knob-and-tube), on aluminum-branch-wired homes from 1965 to 1973, and on additions that were extended by previous owners without re-pulling home runs. We also do full rewires on small rural houses where the original wiring was sized for far less load than the home now carries.

For a full rewire we plan the home in stages: panel and service first, then home runs and branch circuits, then devices and finish trim. We use NM-B in walls and attic, MC where staple support is unreliable, and we ground everything per NEC 250. AFCI per NEC 210.12 and GFCI per NEC 210.8 are baked in. We add circuits where the original wiring was undersized (kitchen, laundry, bath, HVAC) and we re-pull home runs that were extended into shared-neutral or undersized configurations.

Most Westlake rewires are done while the homeowner is living in the house. We work room by room, leave temporary power, and coordinate drywall patches with the homeowner. Full rewires take two to four weeks depending on size and how much wall opening is needed. We pull the permit through the Calcasieu Parish permit office and schedule rough and finish inspections.
