Yes. For fixtures over 35 lb we install a fan-rated box; over 50 lb we add a brace or hang directly to the joist per NEC 410.36(B). Newer Prien homes usually have good attic access above the dining ceiling.
Older dimmers shipped with builder-grade construction do not always pair correctly with newer LED drivers. We swap the dimmer for a listed LED-compatible Caseta, Diva LED+, or Leviton unit and the flicker resolves.
