Service mast and meter socket repair in Prien is different from older neighborhoods because most Prien construction is fed underground from the transformer, with no overhead mast at all. The repair work here is almost always at the meter base itself: storm-damaged enclosure, corroded jaws, an arcing meter, or damage from a vehicle backing into the side of the house.
We coordinate with Entergy to pull the disconnect, then replace the meter socket (Milbank, Eaton, or Square D 200A or 320A as appropriate). We do not replace the buried URD conductors between the transformer pedestal and the meter unless they are visibly damaged; that portion is utility-owned in many cases and we coordinate with Entergy. Grounding electrode conductors per NEC 250.66 are re-attached or replaced as needed.

A permit is filed at the Lake Charles Permits Office for any mast or meter work and the AHJ inspection must clear before Entergy will reconnect.

Meter sockets sit in an exterior enclosure exposed to weather, sun, and the occasional bump from a trash bin or vehicle. They can corrode internally or take physical damage even without a storm. We replace what is failing.
The meter socket enclosure is customer-owned even on underground services. The homeowner is responsible. Insurance often covers storm or vehicle damage; we provide the documentation you need.
